Finals are finally over!

Finally a break from school long enough to to actually get some sleep and get stuff done. Although now I've discovered that the selection at the Columbia House music club really sucks. Even stuff that's in their print catalog is apparently "not found" or "Not available at this time, here are some similar...", and their site won't let you order more than 20 CDs at a time (which is annoying when you want to maximize an "Unlimited CDs for $1.99" offer to bring the average from the full price CD down). Did I mention the selection is worse than emusic (and their lack is justifiable)?

Too much homework to do, which hasn't given me much time to do other stuff. I think I sorta convinced Brooke to set up a web page though.

I think I've finally caught up on sleep... After upgrading from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000 (successfully, but with little sleep) in 2 days without playing around with the software at all first, and then 2 tests and a bunch of homework during the week, I came home last night and slept for a good 15 hours. Much better now. BTW, if you're planning on upgrading from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000, beware that depending on the migration method some extra mailbox permissions may be lost, and that MS reworked the way permissions are applied now (the integration with active directory means permissions to additional boxes are applied based on user rather than based on primary box). And now k5 is slow, so can't catch up there very easily...

Well, updated the start page again yesterday - added the menus back and dropped a couple less used qux.net links. I think I fixed some formatting bugs with IE too, but will have to go find a windows or macos machine to find out. The initial back-to-school rush is pretty much over, but now there's getting used to homework again. Way too much reading to do...

Well, classes started today. Pretty good so far. My evening class will be rather interesting - Theology of J.R.R. Tolkien. Way too many people know too much about it, and there are some people who are learning Qenya. Gonna be a fun final in December though. Oh well, gotta get up way to early tomorrow, so time for bed...

Well, the crunch at work has started. Gotta get a bunch of online forms up and running, as well as account signup kiosks. And get blackboard integrated into SSO (and cleanup the SSO login help stuff). Of course we'll probably discover more bugs in the system as time goes on too...

Well, some relatively major updates to my start page. I added weather (for MSP), and changed some links (took off Audiogalaxy since it's not used much anymore, and added eBay). I also reorganized some stuff for space reasons. Any other ideas are welcome too...

Well, I ended up "fixing" my grandma's cable modem. Turns out the account was never finished signing up, and they apparently just route you to only a few specific places inside their network until you finish it. It would have been nice if they told us that though. It's done now, and none of their extra software running, and it seemed to be nice and speedy when I was there. Seems people like the idea of leaving email up all the time though with the alert sound for new messages - so much more convenient than actively checking. :)

A wiser man than I once said, "Look up, you might see the original joke somewhere over your head."
