Someone uses 32 bit counters...

At least sometimes. I noticed this in my title bar: Bloglines | My Feeds (4294967707).

Figuring that's probably not right, I dig down a bit and find: Netflix Queue (4294967295). Of course there was nothing actually in there, except something to make it calculate -1. So obviously the totals aren't 32 bit bound, wonder how big they can get...

Heh. I was just throwing around some numbers in my head, wanted to add a quarter of half, and factored in .128. I didn't realize until a few steps later what I did. Dang base 2...

I went to Arby's for lunch today. An excerpt from the ordering process:

Cashier: "Um, I screwed up." *Places this on counter next to register, and looks like she's waiting for a response.*
Me: *wonders what she expects me to do about it*
Cashier: "What's 83 minus 53?" Me: "Um, 30." *more confused I look at object on counter*
Cashier: *shows me receipt. I'm still wondering what I'm supposed to do about it. Long pause of her sorta staring off into the distance.* "Yea, that makes sense." *reaches over to credit card machine to run the rest.*

So yes, I now have two receipts for my meal. The credit card company probably loves it, I wonder what the manager will say...

I'll admit I'm not so great at higher math. Not to say that I'm horrible or anything, but my math GPA in college was 2.57. Linear Algebra is one of the ones I got a C in - it just never really stuck. So I happen to take a look at my web site stats, and notice an insane amount of traffic to an old linear algebra study guide I have. Yea, go looking for a linear algebra study guide on yahoo or MSN and guess who's number 1? I'm also getting traffic for stuff I couldn't answer off the top of my head either. Some examples for you:

  • "one to one linear transformation" "linearly independent set"
  • linear algebra 10 axioms vectors
  • linear algebra exam ii
  • linear algebra null space
  • find basis from coordinate vector space
  • "linear algebra", "exam 2"
  • linearly dependent vector spaces and dimension
  • spanning set linear algebra
  • what is a spanning set linear algebra
  • vector spaces exam
  • linear algebra IMT
  • linear algebra closed under addition
  • linear algebra nul a
  • linear transformation one to one trivial solution
  • linear algebra dim(x)
  • axioms vector space
  • linear algebra "one to one" T(x)
  • let V and W be subspaces of vector space U
  • dim(V)=n linear algebra
  • "find the set of all solutions", "Ax=0", "linear algebra", solutions, "linear combination", 3.6
And that's just the last month... I just hope for their sake they have other references (or my study guides reflect the stuff better than my test results).

Linear Algebra study guide for the test tomorrow way too early in the morning... Fun stuff, huh?
