I guess Microsoft has a new project. From an IP without reverse DNS but within a Microsoft netblock my log has accesses with a useragent of "MicrosoftPrototypeCrawler (How's my crawling? mailto:newbiecrawler@hotmail.com)". I'm sorta curious what kind of technology they're using. Inquiry sent... :)

I'm glad the week is over... I had a test today which started at 11:10, and I finished up in time to go to lunch at 11:30 with some coworkers and classmates (yea, in that class - we didn't spend much time studying for that one either...). Afternoon was a mix of miscellaneous stuff, most of which I have forgotten by now. The biggest thing was probably figuring out with a coworker how to get websense working after an "upgrade" managed to look like everything was fine, but it really didn't see the site database, everything acted different, and nothing was actually getting blocked. Oh well, its working now. And we thought of a funny idea to confuse/scare people when they hit a blocked site. It's probably not something we can really implement from the real system, but it's fun to mess with people a little bit... Anyways, time for the weekly weekend initiation event...

Today was a pretty good day I guess. Had to get up and the morning was uneventful, but after lunch and class (which I managed to not bring my wireless card to since it was sitting on my desk) we were supposed to have a meeting. Unlike most people when it comes to meetings, we're all geeks so before everyone even got there we decided that rather than talk about what we had all forgotten to do, we'd just go do it. A bunch of us decided that it'd be much better to go outside so we spent a couple hours out there. Of course Tenley had to come out and take our picture for posting within ITS, and Sheldon decided to make use of his video camera. Oh well - wireless just rocks. I even managed to actually look over the class powerpoints for the test I have tomorrow. I figured since I really had no idea what we covered in class the last 3 weeks (even though I went to every one), I should find out. It looks like it'll be pretty easy....

Two busy days... Although Tuesday was cool because it was C1 for lunch, blood drive in afternoon, and then Dave and I went to Fuddruckers and watched Empire. Of course today I made up for no homework yesterday by spending 5+ hours working with Joe on sorta AI (we got distracted a bit). Oh well... Tuesday one of our coworkers announced he was leaving to go work at Target, so that was a bit depressing since we'll all miss him. Big lunch party on his last day, so if you know Curt and don't know about it, let me know (or you could always join the lunch list). The server team gets to be busy the next 2 weeks trying to learn enough to cover for him until we get someone else. Hopefully that process will be quick though. Oh, and it's getting close enough to the release of Matrix: Reloaded that we're getting a group together for that too...

I think today was the longest lab so far this semester - almost an hour. Jeff even posted an entry about how entertaining it was... Otherwise the day was pretty uneventful. I found out that nobody else in the class seemed to be having any luck with the AI homework either. Oh well, we'll see how class goes tomorrow. Stocked up on the dew again so should be ready to battle the sleepiness after lunch at the gate... Good food, but it always makes you really sleepy - oh well, it's worth it. I still don't know how I manage to keep so highly ranked on google. Looking through the search keyword summary a lot of people still want info on the excel 97 easter egg, and are following the link to my page which shows up on the first page. Other popular ones include the nerdity test, and for some reason this month has a surge to a copy of an article someone wrote about Columbine... Even searches for fellowship of christian athletes pictures or MN FCA now or recently have had pages for the Osseo FCA stuff. And yea, if you search on my hich school on MSN you still get qux.net pages on the first page of results (yet not the school's real site). Oh yea, and you can apparently search on lyrics by Hive and find me too... And people complain about the search engines not finding them... :)

Somehow I missed this commercial a few days ago. That's just cool...

Somehow I think I manged to get back on a normal sleep schedule rather easy. I was still really tired and had to resort to caffeine as the day went on though... Had some family over for a nice big lunch and just to hang out and talk as well. I uploaded all the pics of ITS Student Workers I cropped yesterday and repointed the database at the replacements, so we'll see how that goes tomorrow... Just got done watching Face/Off, which was much better than I remember it being. Due to the style of movie (a lot of action) you need to watch it on a nice system, which may be part of it since I think before it was probably just on a tv somewhere - oh well. Basically for the whole 3rd side (laserdisc) the room doesn't stop shaking and stuff flying around behind you - gotta love John Woo films... :)

Weekends are great for sitting around doing nothing, and 3 day weekends are great for messing up your sleep schedule. Waking up at 3 (yes, in the afternoon) the day before you have to get up at 8 can't be good... And that was solid sleep - not laying in bed because I didn't want to get up. Anyways, my siblings and I watched Blue Crush, which was pretty decent. Spent a while digging through and cropping photos too. A bunch of ITS student workers are gonna hate me Monday when they look at the list of student workers... :)

Joe and I spent way too much time on AI homework, which has been nothing but a headache. We have a good method for solving it which while it works decently, is something that doesn't program into MARE well... Oh well. I spent most of the day doing nothing, and watched The Matrix, so it wasn't all a loss. If you're looking to invest money right now, here's an analysis of how some investments and their returns...

The end of the week is finally here... The day was sorta weird I guess. This morning I was busy, but now I can't remember what I did... I think that means it's really time for the weekend... Then there was Chipotle, a quiz in AI, and learning about Top Spin. Then discovering we need to haul out the drill again to mount bluepill in the racks, so that has to wait... The library kiosks now have printing too, and the SSL certificates on webmail won't expire on Saturday anymore (that was fun as it involved playing with an IIS3 server for a bit)... At least I had some variety though. After work Dave and Nick had 10 and Jeff and I over and we had steaks on the grill and watched a really weird movie and sat around watching TV. Fun stuff, but we were all tired and definitely ready for the weekend... Oh yea, Mike J says I'm supposed to mention The Charm of the Bead. I think he said something about google...
