Joss, when asked about continuing Serenity/Firelfy even if it's only direct-to-dvd, said "Whatever format it is. If it's a chance to work with these actors again, to live in this world again, I'm there!". This is contingent on someone backing it though, so buy the movie!
Those of you on the movie-night list have heard at least part of this, but we'll be having a movie night soon with it. At this point it's sounding like sometime Dec 27-30, but that's not set in stone. Let me know if you're not on the list but are interested. Or if you are on the list and want to come but have conflicts and prefer certain dates. Should be a fun time.
For the show yea it'd be pushing it, but making the movies even if they're straight to DVD should be possible.
Serenity's on my wishlist and I have a hunch I'm getting it. :)
I got my dad hooked on the show (huzzah to Sci-Fi channel + TiVo). Hopefully Joss gets to play with the world again. I'm starting to doubt Fox's ability at keeping good shows on air.
I didn't realize they were on scifi, that's cool. As for Fox, they seem to have a habit of doing that.
They seem pretty good at canceling anyhing that appeals to the 18 - 30 year olds... (futurama, family guy, serenity, stargate).
Yea, and then stuff like family guy kept going back and forth. And they almost canceled 24 (I'm amazed they managed not to with their history actually). Makes you wonder what they're looking at when they decide what should be canceled.

While it sounds nice, I think firefly costs way too much per episode to see it come back in any format that didn't have advertising support.
